Financial services company Robinhood has hired Josh Drobnyk as VP of corporate relations and communications as the company prepares for an expected IPO later this year.
Drobnyk will report to Robinhood’s chief marketing and communications officer Christina Smedley in the company’s Washington, DC, office.
He will oversee corporate communications, public policy communications and internal communications.
“Robinhood has dramatically expanded access to investing and in the process played a central role in the long-overdue transformation of the financial services industry,” Drobnyk said.
Drobnyk joins Robinhood from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the industry-funding brokerage watchdog, where he was SVP and head of corporate communications.
Before joining the Treasury, Drobnyk spent several years working in communications on Capitol Hill, including more than four years in the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee.
Robinhood is aiming to go public this year, according to Bloomberg News.
